Lead Pastor

Doug Shivers

Doug grew up on a small farm in Richland, Missouri and has been in pastoral ministry for 4 decades. A graduate of Southwest Baptist University, he has been the pastor of Boulevard since 1994. He is married to Laura, and they have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. Doug loves golf, shooting, and reading (his favorite authors include Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Charles Spurgeon, Thomas Brooks, John Bunyan, R.C. Sproul, Eugene Peterson, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Tom Clancy, and Patrick McManus).

Associate Pastor of Discipleship & Administration

Willis Covington

Willis was born in southern Mississippi and grew up in the church. After graduating from college in 2012, he went to Lesotho as a volunteer missionary where he met Mallory, a Springfield-native and nurse who came on a medical missions team. Shortly afterward they were married and lived in Louisville, KY until Willis finished his MDiv at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Now residents of Springfield, Willis and Mallory have two daughters, Willa and Edith. Willis loves camping, backpacking, cooking, fly-fishing, soccer, and reading.

Lindsay Downs

Lindsay has been a Springfield resident and a part of Boulevard’s family her entire life. She loves to spend time with her husband, Darin, and their children, Ryder, Hayden and Kinsley. Lindsay has happily served as ministry assistant since 2012, and is an avid reader.
